I am one of those ridiculous collectors, and it is very difficult to maintain a balance; something I am not sure has been reached.
But I love making mixes that work. I love sharing music with people. I probably listen to 200 albums a month.
But of those 200, 10 or 20 will really stick out and I will have those in my car to listen to on my way to work, or class, and back, to envelope, to memorize.
I’ll be DJing my brother’s wedding reception, so it has me embarked on a quest for the perfect bizarre mix for him and his bride.
I do agree that the hoarder mentality leads to not more enjoyment, but probably less. For me, I am so ridiculously meticulous that I try to save everyone else the work, but that may not be reasonable. I still haven’t figured that out yet.
